Remind me — what counts as a set?
  • A chow: three in a row, inside one suit.

  • A pung: three copies of the same tile.

  • A kong: all four copies, still counting as one set.

A winning hand is four sets and a pair.

There is already a run face up across the table, taken from the dealer’s throw. Only that player could take it: a run may be claimed from the player on your left and from nobody else.
