Nearwit operates Faanclub at faanclub.in. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms.
1. Who we are
Faanclub is operated by Nearwit. These terms are a contract between you and Nearwit.
2. What the service is
Faanclub is an interactive course and practice tool for learning mahjong: lessons, drills, a practice table against bots, and friends’ rooms for social play. It is software and digital content, not a physical product.
3. Eligibility
You must be 18 or older to create an account. We do not knowingly offer the service to anyone under 18.
4. Accounts
One account per person. Keep your account details accurate and your credentials to yourself — you are responsible for anything that happens under your account.
5. No real-money play
Faanclub teaches a traditional tile game. There is no wagering, no stakes, no real-money play, no cash or cash-equivalent prizes, no purchasable in-game currency and no chance-based purchases anywhere in the product. Practice games are played against bots; friends’ rooms are free social play where nothing of value changes hands.
6. Access and charges
Faanclub is free to use. There are no subscriptions, no in-app purchases and no trial that runs out. If we introduce optional paid plans later, these terms and the /pricing page will be updated first, and nothing is ever charged without you choosing to buy it.
7. Payments
No payments are taken today. If paid plans arrive they will be collected by a licensed payment processor — we will never see or store your card details — and prices will be in Indian rupees, with the tax treatment stated on /pricing.
8. Acceptable use
No scraping the site or its content, no reselling access to it, no tooling built to cheat the rules engine, and no abusive behaviour in friends’ rooms.
9. Intellectual property
The curriculum, the rules engine, the tile artwork and the coach content are ours. Mahjong itself — the traditional game and its rules — is not something anyone can own, and we do not claim to.
10. User content
Your account name, your progress and cohort data, and anything you type into support correspondence or friends’ rooms is yours — we hold it to run the service, as set out in the privacy policy.
11. Tutor-led programmes
Additional terms will apply to tutor-led programmes when they launch.
12. Disclaimers
The service is provided as-is, without a guarantee of uninterrupted availability. The coach teaches one specific, documented rule set; house rules vary from table to table, and coach guidance is instructional, not authoritative for any particular house’s rules.
13. Limitation of liability
Our liability to you, for any claim arising from these terms or the service, is capped at the amount you paid us in the preceding 12 months.
14. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate an account for a clear breach of these terms, such as abuse or the acceptable-use violations above.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will email you when we make a material change; continuing to use the service after that counts as accepting the update.
16. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of India. Courts in Pune have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
