Your turn. Choose a tile to discard.

Step 1 of 4

Remind me — what counts as a set?
  • A chow: three in a row, inside one suit.

  • A pung: three copies of the same tile.

  • A kong: all four copies, still counting as one set.

A winning hand is four sets and a pair.

In this lesson: How to play a whole hand with the coach silent, asking for a hint only when you choose to.

A hint is not an answer. It says what the table already shows — that your hand is one tile away, that a claim is on offer, that two throws are level — and never what anybody else is holding.
